“NOVA: National AI Creativity Competition” Mainland Final Pitch Fest Concludes

The NOVA: National AI Creativity Competition has successfully concluded its Mainland final pitch fest on September 5, 2026. 10 teams of tertiary students presented their proposals.

The NOVA: National AI Creativity Competition, organized by the Center for Technology and Business Ecosystem (CTBE), HKUST Shanghai Alumni Chapter, and Tencent Research Institute, has successfully concluded its Mainland final pitch fest on September 5, 2026. 10 teams of tertiary students presented their proposals.

SIGNOVA won with its barrier-free interactive systems for the hearing-impaired. It comprises four students from Zhengzhou University of Light Industry: Nuoxi LI, Yonghong XU, Xudong YANG, and Wenhao WANG.

The Second Prize went to Carbon Reduction Group (碳減派) for its project “Carbon Wisdom: A Grand Model for Reshaping Carbon Consulting” and Vision Guide (慧视导途) for its multimodal sympathetic integrated travel assistant for the visually impaired.

Carbon Reduction Group (碳減派) is a team composed of three students from Society Hub, HKUST(GZ): Junxiang LAI, Jiawei WU, and Shengtian XU, as well as one student from Wuhan University of Science and Technology, Haijiang LIU.

Vision Guide (慧视导途) includes one student from Zhengzhou University of Light Industry, Jiankun SHI, and one student from Huanghe Jiaotong University, Jiazhong DING.

Prof. Zhaoli Meng, Associate Director of CTBE, speaks, “The new generation of young people we envision is one that can understand and utilize cutting-edge technologies, while also paying attention to real people, real society, and real needs.”

Dr. Wepon Wang, Chief Expert at Tencent Research Institute, adds, “What I look forward to even more is that the ideas I have here today can continue to evolve after the competition ends, and even become products and services that can be used by more people.
