On May 19, 2025, a delegation led by Dr. Meng Zhaoli, Deputy Director of the Centre for Technology and Business Ecosystem Research at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) Business School, visited the HKUST (Guangzhou) Functional Hub. Professor Wen Weijia, Dean of the HKUST (Guangzhou) Functional Hub, and others received Dr. Meng and her delegation.
During the visit, the HKUST (Guangzhou) Functional Hub and the Centre for Technology and Business Ecosystem Research at the HKUST Business School held an exchange seminar. Professor Bai Yu, Deputy Director of the Entrepreneurship Center of the Knowledge Transfer Office at HKUST (Guangzhou), Assistant Professor Chen Ziqiang of the Advanced Materials Domain, and Assistant Professor Han Wei of the Sustainable Energy and Environment Domain attended the seminar. Both sides discussed innovative mechanisms for knowledge transfer, the business environment and development needs of technological innovation, and explored new possibilities for entrepreneurship among university faculty and students.
The delegation then visited the university's core buildings, the Green e-Materials Laboratory, the Super Energy Technology Theme Laboratory, the Central Laboratory for Materials Characterization and Preparation, and the Central Laboratory for Micro-Nano System Manufacturing. In addition, the Functional Hub arranged for Dr. Meng and her delegation to visit companies with close ties to the university to showcase their achievements in industry-academia-research integration.
